Cakes need good care to keep its delicacy. Therefore, cake packaging needs to take their safety during display, transportation and use into consideration. Ideally, cake packaging should be re-sealable and reusable to give it more value. Cakes, these days, come in many qualities, shapes, and sizes. Cake packaging boxes, therefore, must also compliment and accentuate the qualities of the cake inside.

Cake Base Disks/Boards:

Cake base disks provide a solid base used to transport and display cakes. They can eventually be used as a platform to cut the cake on. Disks made of paper-based materials are more eco-friendly in comparison to plastic disks. They can be used with any cake packaging option.

Plastic Containers:

They are a great option for showing off the design of the cake while providing a protective cover during transport and storage. These can be square, oval, circle-shaped, or in any custom shape made to fit the cake itself. They include a transparent plastic cover or top on a plastic base. They should be used with cake disks or boards to protect the cake if the plastic bends, or to protect the plastic base when the cake is cut.

Tin Containers:

While not as popular as some of the other options, tin containers have their merits. They can keep the cake fresh and, of course, provide better protection than nearly any other cake packaging option.

They should be used along with cake boards, especially when used for larger sized cakes. They may come as either, standard or premium cake packaging options. They can be either, 1 or 2 piece designs. 1 piece designs are boxes where the lid is flipped open the box. 2 piece designs, on the other hand, can have a removable top. These boxes can come with windows that allow a peek inside the box.

Gables Boxes:

Gable boxes have a triangular roof over a square box and come with handles that make them easy to hold, carry and store. These stylish packaging boxes can be produced, in a size that meets the requirements of the cake.

Gable boxes can be designed with display panels or windows on one or multiple sides. These can be used to have a look at the enclosed cake and ensure its quality and freshness. They are cost-effective, reusable and recyclable. Therefore, they provide more value and prevent wastage in comparison to other, single-use, and cake packaging options.

Pouches Or Sachets:

While not commonly used by bakeries, they are seeing increasing use in grocery stores. They are used to package small ready-made cakes available at grocery shops.
